Right or wrong?

I wonder along the way,
if there is a "correct" answer for Arts.
As sound as the concept or idea may be,
works lacking in depths and the inability to connect ideas
with whatever mediums being used,
no matter hard you try,
no matter if it is your final piece or experimental piece,
no matter what issues you are trying to address,
it will be treated as a "wrong" answer- totally unacceptable.
It is right to say that arts students can fail thousands of time
because in future when we step into any Arts industry,
we can't afford any sort of failures,
so if you're going to fail, it's time to do so now.

Ironically, we can't fail that many times either.
If your performance is not up to expectation,
you start to blame yourself because your grade will be affected,
and when your grade is affected,
opportunities that's open for you will also close down.
And that's probably how every Arts student will feel--
the fear of failure and the mentality to create artworks
just so to meet other people's expectations.

It's so true that everyone now just focus on our grades,
without really thinking about the process of making our works,
the process and thinking about our works.
We forget to listen to the voice in our heart because the
voices around us are so much stronger, louder, and definitely influential.
After reading a small portion of the book, "Art and Fear",
I realize the importance to shut down the voices around us,
telling us what to do, what you should do, or worse still, what is the "correct answer".

I will never figure it out for myself, what I can do to impress
anyone looking at my work, no matter how "fail" it can be.

I will never figure it out for myself, how others will look at me or my artworks
because I am who I am, this is MY work, MY expression.

So you too, shut down those voices that say you're not good,
you're wrong, and you can't make it.
